The Design Process -- Preparing the Art

This layout proved to be the most popular and so the design was redrawn at full size in pencil and then inked on Denril, a polyester paper.

The artwork was scanned into Photoshop and made into a layer. As this design was for a screenprinted t-shirt it would need to be output in spot color format.

The khaki color is on a background to show viewers what the printed design will look like on khaki shirts, but that layer will not be output for the color separations. Khaki was chosen as the color least likely to look dirty when covered with sawdust and shavings!
