The Design Process -- Thumbnails
This is the first of two sketches made
ready to present to the client. These sketches give
the general idea of the design without too much detail,
show where the logo would be placed and a possible approach
to the typefaces.
The proportions and overall feel of a
design can be established in a thumbnail, and changes
can be made easily.
The thumbnail stage is a perfect time
to try out different layouts, however it is not always
necessary to present many sketches. Often an artist
knows from experience what the best layout is for the
particular job.
